Every morning I put paper, pen and pencil into my backpack and go scouting. Around every corner there seems to be opportunity to challenge my skills in perspective. I try to keep the work energetic, drawing quickly to get the essence. Slow travel with a sketchbook in hand is meditative, and a way to see the details. People on the street seem curious and the cultural exchange is gratifying. Next stop, France—new images to come.

Quick sketch from the inner bailey.
